SIMPLE CORRUPTION

I am writing this from a train traveling between Chirala and Nellore (both places in Andhrapradesh India).

The good thing about travel is you see lot of people and learn and unlearn many things (bad part is since the learning makes head heavy you develop neck pain)

These days the hot topic is Baba Ramdev and his fight against corruption. Many a times any discussion in "nobody knows anybody" forums (the ones you find during travel) no single person agrees to what his fellow passenger says.

But astonishingly there seemed to be unanimity in today's arguments (long live baba ramdev). And there was a person who was really furious about Telecom Raja (the one who is accused of telecom scam). While talking about him he is spitting fire and I could see the anger in the form of color on his face.

Then there is a interruption in the form of a poor TTE who might be thinking of calling cops (such was the intensity of our anti corruption passenger).

Then all the AC passengers (anti corruption passengers) explained the TTE of the serious nature of the problem and the TTE also presided over the in-compartment meeting and added his valuable advice too.

Now its time for the TTE to go on with his work, and he asked for the tickets. Most of the AC passengers did not bother to do the reservation before getting into train. 

And the TTE is kind enough to give them options to choose.

option 1: pay the difference of the fare
option 2: Get me Rs 100 (without receipt)

I was expecting all our AC passengers to get furious again and probably manhandle the TTE.

Nothing happened. Every ACP took Rs 100 (some bargained for lesser of course)

and simply paid to the TTE.

TTE's collection is more than Rs 500 from one part of the compartment.

And to my shock... disbelief... resentment...surprise..etc etc.. the talks on anti corruption RESUMED.

Is political leaders really corrupt ?

(did we give them the chance to be corrupt)

Is govt employees really corrupt ?

(or we encourage them to be such)

CORRUPTION IS CORRUPTION WHETHER IT IS DONE IN LARGE SCALE OR SMALL SCALE (There is no scale to measure the corruption)

Train still going on... discussion still going on...  

WHAT ARE YOU LOOKING FOR ?

Recently I happened to be in a drink and dine party with all my friends.

We all were having a real good time, when one of us started narrating his problems in his career.

While some of us opposed to discussing business in a leisure activity, many of us thought that it would help him if we can discuss and find some solution to his perennial problems.

He narrated his problems one by one. It was a long list and included challenges like "my people are not good, my boss never supports, every one wants me to quit and go, even the office boy does not like me" and it went on and on..........

Initially each one tried to analyze each problem and tried to give a common solution.


But to our astonishment, while we were trying to give him a concrete solution his mind seemed to be else where and he was not caring the solution.


We then were even more resolved to give him much better solution.


The party turned into a business meeting where the need for laptop was substituted by paper napkins.


While were busy in drawing the solutions we still find him thinking some unknown things.


After an hour and half of discussions and creating so many solutions, we UNDERSTOOD.. THAT THIS GUY IS MORE INTERESTED IN SHARING HIS PROBLEMS AND LEAST BOTHERED ABOUT OUR SOLUTIONS.


When one of us shouted " yaar I found the ultimate problem and its solution"


all of us looked at him. He said the biggest problem is "this guy only" and the solution is "stop discussions and start enjoying party"


 

Focus on where you need to focus

Every one has got the capacity to focus.. But the question is how many focus on the right thing ?

Recently I was traveling in a bus. There was a conductor who issues the tickets.

One passenger gave a Rs 500 note to buy a ticket costing Rs 10, which naturally irritated the conductor.
He said he would give the change at the end of the journey. Passenger wanted it immediately as the cash bag of conductor is visibly full with change.

Then followed the argument.... Entire bus got divided into two.. one arguing in favor of passenger and the other in favor of conductor.

Slowly the discussions turned hot and point of no return. After fifteen minutes there were people who alighted and there were new people who boarded the bus.

These new people has no idea as to why everybody in the bus were arguing. By this time the discussion was on lack of sufficient lower denomination currency notes in the system.

When somebody started blaming the ruling party, the new people too joined the fight and it took a whole new dimension.

Imagine after another 30 minutes when the bus reached the final destination, it was a completely new fight and nobody knows why they were fighting.

The conductor and the passenger who started the game were the only non contributors and I was the mute spectator trying to imagine how to write this for you..
