I dont want to be MAHATMA

Sorry Boss... I had to quit...

I got a job in Dubai...             I got a much better job...

I am planning to leave the city hence I had to quit....

Each time I hear something like this, an internal movie starts playing inside my mind.
  • The time I spent with him in my extra large training sessions.
  • The amount of effort that went into make him understand the complex concepts of his job.
  • My effort in visiting his house to build a relationship which I thought would be a long association with him.
  • The time that I spent travelling even to small villages to meet his clients who were never looked potential expect to his eyes.

This movie is not a "watch it and finish it types". It is a continuous movie that will be on auto mode and starts playing each time you take a break from work and haunts you even in the sleep.

The fact is that the exit of one person is not going to affect any of the lines of the company or even mine. (top line or bottom line)

But the feeling that I AM CHEATED is the culprit that creates the trouble.

PEOPLE... PEOPLE... PEOPLE... PEOPLE... PEOPLE... PEOPLE.

I was standing today in one of the most crowded roads of Trichy.. NSB Road.

I could see people everywhere. Different types of people. Probably in hundreds walking in different directions.
  • I don't know any one of them.
  • I have no feelings for anyone of them.
  • I don't want to know anything about anyone of them.

For me they all are just passing crowd to make a way through, while protecting my vital part.. (purse)

We all live in the same city. Probably some of them might be in the same locality where I live.

All of us use the same bus, train, road and other facilities.

But I DON'T HAVE A DESIRE TO BUILD ANY RELATIONSHIP WITH ANYONE OF THEM.

If I try to build relationship with all the people around me and start working for their wellbeing then probably within a couple of years I could be called as MAHATMA/Swamyji/Baba or even God in the form of human.

But I build relationships with people...

  1. With whom I have a personal relationship, like wife, children, brothers, sisters, friends, class mates etc
  2. With whom I have a proffessional relationship.

In both the cases my happiness or un happiness is dependent on them.

As long as I wish to have a happy home or happy work place I need to build and invest in these relationships.

The moment I stop investing or start abusing the relationship my happiness or success is screwed up. (which I can't afford)

Then the question arises...

"Am I having a selfish motive behind building these relationships?"

It is a double "YES"

It is not only me who have a selfish motive, it is the other person/s too who have a similar motive.

Now the question is whether having a selfish purpose behind building a relationship is bad???

Since the govt has not considered my candidature even for a district judge post.. I would not like to take the role of judge to decide upon this.

Rather you decide what is good.

But my sincere feeling is that "I DON'T WANT TO BE A MAHATMA"

More important to keep in mind, so that you don't get disturbed with each person looking after his own interests ignoring your's is...

RELATIONSHIPS ARE BUILT WITH SELFISH PURPOSES.. unless you are dealing with Gandhis, Mother Therassas etc.

Nothing wrong in being selfish.. and at the same time let us realize that others too have a right to be selfish.

Being selfish.... nothing fishy about this.

Questions... Questions

While reading a book of Mrs Sudha Narayanamurthy I could recollect the following conversation that I had in a recent meeting with a participant.

1 What is that you aspire in life?
Ans: I want to have a good lifestyle.

 2. What do you mean by good lifestyle?
Ans. Aaammm... Good life style means.... better life style... something good.. really good.

 3. Right now you don't feel that you have such life style?
Ans. No.. that is why I aspire for that.. (looking proud for his clarity of mind)

 3. When will you know that you are having such good/better/really good lifestyle?
Ans: See.. we live in a rented house now.. It's a medium size house. So I wish to have a big kerala style bungalow. (kerala is famous for celestial houses)

 4. So Good lifestyle means having a big kerala type bungalow?
Ans: No No No.. not like that. But I should have a big car also.

 5. Okay.. A big house and car will be called as good life style?
Ans: No...to maintain all that...I need income also.

 6. Hence good life style means big car, house and good income... that's all?
Ans: No...we need other things also. Like good furniture... other things.. good bank balance.. (then smiles)

 7. So good life style means. apart from house and car, it is furniture, other things, bank balance correct?
Ans: (thinks for long time)... Not only that but should have good name in the society and company also. smiles again

 8. So.. apart from all these material things you need recognition also. Then it is called good lifestyle? Ans: (Thinks for one minute before he replied) YES that's it.

 9. Do you know anyone who is having all the above that you aspire for in your close circle?
Ans: Yes three to four of them ultra rich. They have more than these.

 10. Are all of them very happy in their life?
Ans: Mmmmmmm. Can't say so. They have their own tensions. Some of them even don't be in town for most of the time also.

 11. So you too wish to have same life style?
Ans: No.... but having all those is good na..

 12. You seem to be in doubt. Tell me what gives you real happiness in life? is it just that house, furniture and bank balance?
Ans: See.. we can't say that all those people with all those are happy. But I want to have a good lifestyle.

 13. So. Can I say that rather than aspiring for all these things which give you happiness, it would be better to aspire to be happy?
Ans: Looks completely confused... then says. whatever it is, I should be happy sir..... :)

The things that we accumulate can't be aspirartion. They may be vehicles that deliver us the packets of happiness .

Pakistan Petrolium Company Ltd

Sixty years back we were more united. Some selfish fellow wanted India to be divided. But nobody would have ever thought how costly that mistake would be.

We spend crores of rupees for defense and controlling the terrorism. Both sides lose equal amount of lives each year. We both remained as poverty stricken, unhealthy, corrupted countries for long. Both sides political leaders play the politics of religion. We are in an abyss of darkness.

Everyone knows all these... what is new?

Recently I was travelling in a train. Here comes a person with a pack of peanuts. He sat in the opposite seat. Relaxed a bit. Opened the packet. Started eating the peanuts. I would not have had any problem if he just ate that.

With each handful of peanuts going inside his mouth he started throwing twice the amount of waste on the compartment floor.

He never noticed the change in the way I was looking at him. I had no option but to tell him, if it were to be his house would he still do the same.

He looked offended, did not answer but silently stood up and moved to the next compartment.

I could see some solution coming out here for our endless indo pak problem.

Pakistan wants to destroy Indian business capital Mumbai. Because it doesn't belong to them.

What happens if Pakistani company's Indian HO is beside Taj Hotel. will they still dare to attack?

What happens if New Delhi houses some of the large corporate offices of the pakistan's indian operations?

Will they still look at Ghori Missile targetting New Delhi?

Religion is a mask that terrorists operate with. The real reason behind all terrorism and mafia is just MONEY.

If there is much more free trade and if there is solid investments flow between these two countries, it might be heavenly impossible for the military or government to even think of attacks.

Let us hope the new govt that is going to be formed will have much more committed in solving this crisis.

intellectualism

"Future of india is a big question mark. Fundamental rights of people are at stake. Growing intolerance towards expression of views can be seen in most of the areas. We can't anymore call indians as matured and well behaved community. "

This was the speech by one of the panelists in a popular TV show. There were some more people on the show who are commonly called as intellectuals.

The entire discussion was on a controversial book written by an english author on hindu religion which was withdrawn by Penguin recently.

Indian constitution bestows upon all of us, the freedom to express our views.

No doubt evreybody has to respect other's right to express. But is this constitutional right something without any limitations?

If a terrorist,  naxal, fractionist, smuggler also starts publishing their views and starts giving open interviews taking refuge under the same right to expression then what kind of situation we will be in?

I have right to express my views as long as my views don't spoil the social fabric of my country.  If my views are going to hurt a section of people or spread hatred among caste, religion or regions then in whose interest the so called right to freedom to be allowed to exist?

Contrary to that if I am a social reformer and trying to fight against a particular practice that is harmful to society, my freedom to expression is justified.

Somebody drew the nude pictures of deities of a particular religion.  Can somebody tell as to what purpose it achieved other than spreading hatred between two religions.  Can the same artist keep his composure if someone draws similar pictures of his family members to satisfy one's artistic interest. Won't it be punishable as criminal offense?

If everyone uses the right to expression in their own way, will we have a society of human beings or something else.

There is a line of control that needs to be in built in so called right to expression.  That line is all about the acid test that needs to be performed before we express.

I can express myself,  but what is going to be the outcome of my expression.  Even if my feelings are not going to bring any improvement, if they are not going to harm the society, then I can exercise my right.

Freedom of expression to human beings is different from that is given to dogs. Let us be human beings before we love to be called as pseudo intellectuals.

Dark Future ???

What is the most astonishing factor in anybody's life ?

This was the question that I encountered in one of the old tamil devotional books that I was going throgh recently.

I tried thinking for a while but the answer that I fould looked startling but true in a very logical way.

The answer was "even after knowing that the life is short and will end unexpectedly all the human beings are full of dream or desire packed future."

We plan for various things in future. We are aware that the house that we construct will outlive us. The plate that we use to eat food is going to live longer than us. And a definite uncertainity dangles over our head always that gives us no notice of whatsoever before the curtain is drawn on life.

The biggest uncertainity that becomes certain at an uncertain future date is DEATH.

No one likes it and no one speaks about it, except an insurance agent who tries to sell you an insurance policy.

Indian philosophy calls this phenomenon as "maya". A person with dreams, ambitions and passion to live the life which has the hidden uncertainity of coming to an end at any point of time without a slightest clue is illogical so it is called effect of MAYA.

When you stay in a hotel room for a day or two you don't try to care much about the things that are in the room. Because you know that it does not belong to you and your stay is temporary and for a price.

I may stay a longer time in the house that I built but it's too not permanent. Hotel room belongs to me as long as I am there in the hotel so as the house.

The conclusion is I don't sit and cry because I am going to die at a certain point of time in my life. I will try to use the opportunity called "life" for a better purpose called "living happily or living with a purpose worth living".

Everybody's future is dark (death) in some point of time in the future. But today is certainly NOT DARK.
This moment is not dark. Tomorrow might not be dark.

Life has given so many colors. One of such color is dark. A human being is by default painted with bright colors. Else the entire creation would have come to a stand still with adam and eve thinking of death and doing nothing further to produce us.

Let not the trivialities of life bother us day in and day out. For there is a day out for certain in future, let us not make the present DARK.

HAPPY NEW YEAR.... COLORFUL FUTURE... HAPPY LIFE....
